Stanley Thomas Instone

Stanley Thomas Instone was born in the Autumn of 1893 the 5th son of Thomas and Maud in Kings Norton. From 7 the rest of his childhood was spent at 23 Fernley Road Sparkhill until, aged 18 the family moved to Adria road where he was to spend the rest of his life. He joined the army as a Lance Corporal in the Labour Corps and was discharged due to ventricular heart disease (V.D.H) with a 40% pension his address at the time being 52 Kingsland Rd, Birkenhead, although all other documents have his address with his parents at 19 Adria Road, Sparkhill. He worked for his brother Bernard in Langstone as a travelling salesman and due to his ill health lived his life with his parents.

After his parents deaths in the 40's he continued living there with his brother Arthur. Arthur died in 1952 leaving Stanley alone in a a large house for just one person (see below). He died only 17 months later on 28 March 1954 (aged 60) at the hospital? at 1 Western Road having fallen 12 foot from the bedroom window, he had multiple injuries and finally passed away from hypostatic pneumonia. An inquest was held on March 1 and a verdict of accidental death was returned.
