Florence and 'Albert' Drew, a piano tuner, lived in West Bromwich and attended Ward End Methodist Church they had 2 children Albert 19/4/07 -16/6/85 and Nellie. Florence died from Recurrent Cancer of the Uterus in The Tanford Home, Showell Green Lane, Sparkhill aged only 37 and her funeral had horses with black plumes and muffled hooves. At the time of her death in 1923 her address was 18 monk road, ward End. Her son Albert was only 16 and his father had an alcohol problem so from that day on he lived alone with much support from his grandfather of whom he was very fond. Nellie was younger than Albert and was a special needs child (possibly mild Downes) and went to live with some of her fathers family in Llandudno; she died at about 24.
Albert married Maude Winifred Howarth at Holmesford Church, Derbyshire and they had 2 children Ann Margrett Drew and Dorothy Jean Drew. He was originally a designer of rolling stock for Cammell Laird using his engineering skills and ended up as a director of Globe and SImpson the automotive branch of Lucas Industries. He died and was cremated at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium, Sheffield.
Ann married twice 1: 22-12-1962 to Brian Noel Kirby and they had 1 child Sara Helen Kirby who married Richard Waller on 4-5-1991 and 2: 13-8-83 to Martin Sykes. Dorothy Jean Drew married Simon James Ekins on 14-12-1963 and had 1 child David Carl Ekins who married Carolyn Ann Hyland 15-3-1986
