Alice Jinks was born in Aston Birmingham and by 20 had moved to Handsworth where she was working as a teacher in a boarding school. She married Albert Taylor who was told he was going to die young because of a weak heart so he mustn't do anything to get himself excited so was a very controlled man; he had been married before and had a son Horace who was about 6 years younger than Cissy who Alice brought up as her own. Alice and Albert had 2 children of their own, Cissy and Norman (who died at 14 from a motorbike accident). Cissy married Alex Stanners and at the beginning of the war they moved from Maidavale to Northampton and stayed (shortly followed by Alice) with Gladys and Ernest for 3 months after which they moved and bought a house in Earls Barton Northamptonshire, after the war money became tight and they moved into a terraced house in Norhampton Alice died in the 1950's.
